The research programme From the Gascon Rolls Project to Online Gascon Rolls falls within the first topic of the LaScArBx Cluster of excellence. It aims to edit and put online the Gascon Rolls, an exceptional documentary source from English chancellery, kept at the National Archives (London), essential to the knowledge of the Middle Ages in Aquitaine, the problematic of remote governance or to understand the dynamics of public policy territorial approach in Aquitaine during the Hundred Years’ War. This programme takes over from the online edition initiative of the Gascon Rolls, started in 2009 by the Universities of Oxford and Liverpool, with the technical support from the Department of Digital Humanities of the King’s College London. It will get financial support from the Digital Knowledge Bank in Aquitaine and will involve two researchers.
